Overview:

If you wish to learn more about the tradition of Vietnamese fondness for studying, our Hanoi day trip to Ke Ve Village and Temple of Literature is an ideal choice. Ke Ve Village, the home of many generals and doctors during the feudal period and Temple of Literature, the first university of Vietnam, both show you the best view of schooling and examination systems of Vietnam in the past. Whether you take further discovery in Vietnam or come home, this tour in Hanoi ensures you truly lasting memories of the studious tradition of Vietnamese.

Description:

Our driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi center at 8:00 and head to Ke Ve Village. Stopping at the communal house of the village, you will be attracted by its solemnity and wide collection of various ancient relics dating back hundreds of years. Continuing our walking way through winding roads and passing ancient architectural works, we will visit a local family, listen to interesting stories about common practices and history of the village and then enjoy a local lunch. All promise you a truly unforgettable experience.

After a short break, we will come back to Hanoi center for a visit to Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam dating back to the 11th century to learn about examination systems of Vietnam in the past. Then, we will transfer to see the Pen Tower (Tháp Bút or in another name of Tả Thanh Thiên – writing on the clear blue sky) which is considered the symbol of Vietnam education tradition. The next 1-hour cyclo trip around Hanoi Old Quarter – the busiest part of the old Thang Long Citadel will give you a slow-speed view of a maze of labyrinthine streets as well as the daily life of the locals.

Finishing our day with a cup of coffee while looking down the streets, viewing the bustling life of the locals at the late afternoon surely makes this day trip in Hanoi even more unforgettable.
